Brooks Revel 3 vs Adrenaline GTS 20

After talking about some shoes from companies like Nike and Adidas, we want to take a closer look at a company with the name of Brooks. Of course, you all know Brooks. The company has tons of shoe variations. Among them are Revel and Adrenaline.

Brooks Revel often known to be the neutral shoes, all-rounder kind of shoes, which also happen to be offered at such incredibly cheap prices. It’s like an introductory gateway to running. Beginners can have their best shoes, at the most affordable price possible. And things also go differently with Adrenaline.

This time we want to compare the Brooks Revel 3 and the Adrenaline GTS 20. Want to see which one is better for you?

Brooks Revel 3

What people know about Brooks 3 in general, is that the shoes are considered pretty lightweight in its class. Though served with much lower price than others, its performance surprises everyone. This is perfect for the people who really want a plush ride for the road run.

The main selling point of Brooks Revel 3 is none other than its light plush ride. Some people even shared their experience with Revel 3 is just walking smoothly like butter. It’s incredibly breathable, and not producing hot spots though being used for long runs (10 miles or more).

It fits true to size, and with the lock system located on the upper that will hold your feet well. It’s moderately fit for everybody, with a spacious toe box. This also goes the same with the midsole and heel cup part. Read also: Asics GT 1000 vs 2000.

You can consider Revel 3 as jack of all trades, but not the King in the business. All the responsiveness and comfort are just great in these pairs of shoes. Though it’s pretty light, we find that it’s best to use the shoes on the roads or packed dirt surfaces.

But, of course, it has its own flaws. One of the main flaws is the stability. Being the light weight shoes that are considered neutral or balanced, Revel 3 is not the most stable shoe, considering the whole design og it. Combining a plush midsoel, heel cup, and the upper that’s not very snug can give you an average stability. You can check it by walking on uneven surfaces or grass terrain.

Now, though it’s unstable on certain surfaces, Revel 3 still exceeds in the speed category. With only 8.8 ounces of weight, this Revel 3 performs incredibly fast. It can be used for both short and long runs, without any noticeable issues. For slow to moderate paces, Revel 3 still works just fine. It may change when you run at a faster pace. Due to its plush, the speed might be decreased a bit.

The most important question is that is it durable enough to be used for a long time? Remembering that its price is considered pretty affordable, of course we also want something better of it. Fortunately, Revel 3 does really well. You can run, potentially up to 75 miles, and notice no wear at all. Even when you’re running at a constant distance, regularly, Revel 3 is indeed pretty durable.

Now though it’s not 100% perfect shoes to buy, Revel 3 does show its incredible selling points. It’s fast, light, and also durable for long runs. Though you need to understand, stability is not its brightest point. Due to the plush location, you may feel a bit discomfort on certain terrains. However, Revel 3 is suitable for all kinds of runners, so if you consider yourself to be one, even a beginner, this is the one for you.

Adrenaline GTS 20

Moving to the next one, we have the Adrenaline GTS 20 with us. Compared to the previous versions, it now provides more stability, and style. Some even claimed that it has to be one of the best running shoes in the world. Is it the actual truth or just a hyperbolic statement? Let’s find out.

The very first thing you may notice is changes in design. Though there’s no problem with older designs, Brooks had an idea to tweak it a little bit. It is the Holistic technology, brought to you by Brooks and GuideRails.

The sole unit of GTS 20 has received some changes from the 19. It was used to reobtain the soft DNA Loft pad that was used in the mid part of the shoes. It’s not located more forward, similar to the other BioMoGo DNA foam. Brooks also implemented the GuideRails Holistic Support System, only it’s better.

Mesh upper design uses the new one which is lighter but still maintains the overall support structure of the shoes. To reduce bulkiness, GTS 20 also has the 3D FIt Print technology applied.

The internal heel is great to deliver direct heel motion forward, with padding located around the back, providing more stability. With ultra weight and better stability, we can say that GTS 20 is more perfected for people who love speeds. You can take it for running 10 miles, 20, or more, without the fear of it being broken.
