Upper
These two models have quite different designs on their uppers. Asics Gel-Kayano 22 does not have stitched-on overlays on its upper; instead, it uses mainly no-sew overlays and mesh that stretches to different directions. Because of the minimum number of overlays, Asics Gel-Kayano 22 is much less likely to irritate the foot, and the fit is a bit looser than what you would expect. On the other hand, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15’s upper also has mainly no-sew overlays, but there are stitched-on overlays on the front part of the shoe and around the heel. There is a broad overlay on the medial side, which creates the support needed by overpronators.

Cushioning
Asics Gel-Kayano 22 is famous for the superb cushioning. It features two layers of foam with the proprietary GEL cushioning in between. It is incredibly soft and cushy. It is very pleasant and comfortable to run with. Even though it does not have a crash pad, the GEL cushioning is sufficient to deliver such a smooth landing. It is even very suitable for heel-strikers.

On the other hand, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 actually has a similar cushioning design, but it is significantly firmer. It has a crash pad that runs along the entire length of the midsole and a long piece of firm foam on the medial side consisting of several density levels, offering enhanced stability and gradual pronation control. This is an awesome shoe if you need a lot of stability and support. It also has a smooth ride.

Sole
Both models come with rubber outsoles, but there are slight differences. They have a similar amount of horizontal flex grooves. But Asics Gel-Kayano 22 has bigger rubber slabs, whereas Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 has smaller rubber pods with more separation inbetween for better shock absorption and a smoother ride.

- Adjustable saddle design for targeted support
- Element linings are breathable and help wick away moisture to keep feet cooler and drier
- HPR Plus delivers long-lasting durability in high-wear areas of the outsole
- Shaft measures approximately Low-Top" from arch
- Lace-up running shoe featuring mesh overlays for breathability
- Removable insole for comfort

Conclusion
For severe overpronators, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 is great. It has lots of stability and support. It also has a particularly smooth ride. On the other hand, if you are looking for softer, cushier shoes, Asics Gel-Kayano 22 should be the way to go.
